manager’s comment
I personally like Slipknot from the All Hope Is Gone period the best. The reason for this is simply that it was the album that introduced me to Slipknot and had a great impact on me.
I think Slipknot from this period is truly the strongest, so please check out the video from the 2009 Download Festival, which was held the year after the release of the album.
explanation
“All Hope is Gone” is Slipknot’s fourth studio album released in 2008. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Modern Rock Album chart in the United States and sold over one million copies worldwide.
The album features 13 tracks, with two bonus tracks released for the Japanese version.
“All Hope is Gone” is an album that includes many hit songs, including “Psychosocial”, one of the band’s signature tracks. The album’s musical style is heavier, darker, and more aggressive, with a more consistent sound compared to previous albums.
This album marks the first time Slipknot’s bassist, Paul Gray, contributed to the songwriting. He wrote the songs “Gehenna” and “All Hope is Gone”.
Also, before the release of the next album, drummer Joey Jordison left the group, so his participation on the album was the last one he recorded.
“All Hope is Gone” has become an important album in Slipknot’s career due to its grand artwork, the band’s evolving sound, and its sales success.
As a fun fact, the album was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Also, the song “Snuff” included in the album is the band’s first-ever ballad.
